So I'm sitting here at work listening to Black Sabbath's Paranoid album on Amazon streaming music. You gotta love the fact that you can listen to just about anything in the world these days thanks to the Internet. In any case, I'm listening to Fairies Wear Boots and it strikes me that it is a really strange thing to assert that they wear boots. I mean, really, boots? Why would a fairy wear boots? That makes no sense.
In any case, I posted a new version of one of my songs last night, but I'm not sure I improved on the first version much by adding synthesizers tracks, as much as I love those.
Here is the original track:
Now here is the new one:
So, what is a wrinkle vortex? Or a wrinkle vortex inversion?
Well, I was thinking of an eyeball of a lovely lady. Then I was thinking of an inverted vortex, whatever that looks like. You can't take these song titles too seriously, y'all.
It's hard for me to listen to Black Sabbath and not think about what they did to their drummer on their last tour. I can't pretend that it didn't bother me that they didn't invite Bill Ward on that last tour. That was probably due to Ozzy's wife but the whole episode bothered me as a sort of fair-weather fan. I can't say that Sabbath is one of my favorites, but the album Paranoid is a seminal rock album.
But you don't treat a drummer like that. That is just not right.
In any case, hope to hear from you soon.

Giant robot monsters. Man, you gotta love that.
How to make a song:
1) Start with a rhythm. There's got to be some kind of beat or pulse that the rest of the instruments follow, or bounce off of...
2) Add some voices. Add guitars, delays, echoes, noises, plops, blinks, wheezes, and sizzle.
3) Sing some maybe. Singing is nice.
4) Add more voices, or take them away. Some tracks might not work, and you have to delete them or edit them heavily.
5) Listen to what you have. Oftentimes I will listen to a track and then revise it, either by adjusting the levels or by removing parts, or adding other parts.
6) Share and enjoy.
|Mr. Porter Wagner saying "Howdy"|
I am creating a new blog site because my previous one (Drum Circles For Jesus) was a little bit too specific about one discrete activity that I enjoy, and so this is going to be much less organized. I titled it Space Monsters Fed Pancakes To My Baby! and would like it to be a blog site for (A) my space rock music that I create and (B) my silly observations about the world and (C) about science, technology, amusement, entertainment, art, politics, and the existential ennui we all endure with either bemusement or joy.
So, like Mr. Porter Wagner here, I would like to extend my reticulated claw and say "Howdy!" and offer to either feed your baby pancakes if she won't stop screaming or reconstitute your entire civilian populace as slaves in my space monster safari enclosure, whichever is more amenable to you all.
I'm hoping you enjoy music, and if so, click here
Please let me know if you have space monsters infesting your neighborhood, by contacting me directly via radio brain wave transmission.
